Sacramento Crime Map — Neighborhood Patterns
Bucketed, source-cited neighborhood safety patterns across the Sacramento metro. We deliberately use higher / typical / lower buckets — not precise rates — to avoid stigmatizing specific blocks and to stay future-proof as city dashboards update.

Sacramento crime FAQs
- Which Sacramento neighborhood has the highest crime rate?
- On topline property + vehicle categories, Downtown, North Highlands and South Sacramento corridors consistently sit higher than the regional average. The pattern is concentrated in commercial corridors and after-hours storefronts, not residential blocks.
- Which Sacramento neighborhood is the safest?
- Folsom, Rocklin and Lincoln (Placer County) all run measurably below the Sac-metro regional average across the topline three categories. Inside the City of Sacramento, Land Park and East Sac are the lowest-violent-crime grids.
- Is Natomas safe?
- North and South Natomas run higher-than-region on property and vehicle activity in the apartment-portfolio submarkets, near-region typical for violent crime. Residential cul-de-sacs run quieter; Class-A apartment portfolios and active construction phases carry the topline.
- How current is this data?
- Buckets are recalibrated against city published dashboards and our internal nightly incident logs at least quarterly. No individual is named; numbers are intentionally bucketed (higher / typical / lower) to avoid stigmatizing specific blocks.
- Where do I report a crime?
- Call 911 for emergencies. For non-emergencies inside the City of Sacramento, call SPD non-emergency at (916) 808-5471. We are not law enforcement — we observe, document, and call PD when needed.
- Can a private patrol replace police?
- No. Private patrol observes, documents and deters; arrests, removal and use of force are law-enforcement functions. A licensed patrol contract reduces the friction of recurring after-hours issues and produces the documentation PD and insurers need.
